Design and refinement of Monarchs took over a year. As it turned out, theory11 has been so meticulous in terms of quality, that they decided to scrap the first batch of these cards (that's over 4000 decks!), because the final product didn't meet the high standards set by the producers initially.

These cards and its embossed tuck case could indeed fit for a king. Due to a moderately bright gold embossing with a vintage feel, the Monarch deck looks like an intricate jewelry box. The back design features elegant thin white borders, and an image of snake wrapping around a "sword/tree". Monarchs were printed by the USPCC in the USA on the best Q1 press using a gorgeous Signature Premium 909 finish. The cards were produced on FSC-certified paper derived from sustainable forests.

Monarchs are available in Purple, Blue, Red, Green and Silver colours. Also theory11 has released a limited edition of White Monarchs and an exclusive edition for Now You See Me 2 movie. In 2013 Monarchs Red took the first place in GQ magazine Holiday Gift Guide.
