Strange Curiosities are LIVE
OUR COLLAB PROJECT IS OUT ON KICKSTARTER
The concept of Strange Curiosities was born in 2020, and together with Ukrainian surrealist artist Waone Interesni Kazki we meticulously worked on each detail of this special deck of cards for the past few years, despite constant electricity blackouts, unrest and missile airstrikes that followed after the full-scale ru invasion of Ukraine.
This project is very dear to our heart, and hopefully will become a statement proving that art cannot be oppressed, colonised or defeated. Read our previous blog post to discover more about Waone.
Traditionally, our partners at Art of Play, a leading company in the US playing cards industry, will help us produce the decks and deliver them to you. They fulfilled our previous Kickstarter campaign, and we will use our past experience and best practices this time.
MORE THAN JUST PLAYING CARDS
Printed by the United States Playing Card Company on premium-quality crushed stock and off-white paper, the curious creatures from the Interesni Kazki universe will come to life in your hands. Owning this deck is truly like having a private art gallery.
The gorgeous wrap-around tuck case design of Strange Curiosities is complemented by an iridescent golden seal, similar to the one Waone uses for authenticity certificates on his highly valued works.
Right after the launch Kickstarter has put a "Project We Love" badge on our campaign. From what we learned, this is not something you can ask or put a request for.
"We don’t accept submissions for features or the Project We Love tag. Our team is always on the lookout for stand out projects, and when we find one we’re especially excited about we designate it as a Project We Love".
Must be nice. All there's left is for you to share the excitement about this campaign with your friends and get them to back it too! The faster we fund it together the more chances we get to reach some extra stretch goals. We can't wait to share special cardistry tutorial videos with you, or even additional rewards we prepared if things go well.
Big shout out to our friends at Kardify for their blog post about our project. Check out their instagram for fresh playing cards news.
